Jesus was alone and prayed…
Todays vers: Luke 9:18-22
In the midst of the busiest time and the three most important years of his life on earth, Jesus understands the importance of creating time to be alone and pray. We see through the New Testament that Jesus often withdrew from the crowd to be alone with his Father, our God. He was so committed to this, that even his disciples got frustrated because he sneaked away yet again to pray (Mark 1:35).
I want to claim that finding time alone in prayer is essential to us as followers of Christ. To create time to be alone with God in our everyday life, is a necessity.
We are blessed to live in 2016 and have the word of God that reveals to us who God is, and what He has done for us. To daily take time alone in the word and in prayer, is one of the most valuable things we can do.
Today you might start a new habit reading the Word of God on a daily basis through the 30day devotional. You are doing a good thing, and I believe this can lead to a life giving and transforming change in your walk with God. Why don’t you also take 5 extra minutes after this devotional to pray and spend time with your heavenly Father.
Maybe you feel too busy to pray? I want to encourage you that you are too busy not to pray.
