Todays verses: John 15:1-17

Remain in me and in my love

Today we read about Jesus as the true vine.Reading this passage, I’m filled with gratitude. I am so thankful to God that I don´t need to strive. I don’t need to achieve and produce fruit and results in my own human strength. My own strength feels extremely small at times.

Verse 5 says: Without God we cannot do anything.

The passage today exhorts us: ”Remain in me, and I will remain in you”. Only when we are found in Him, and our lives are connected to Christ, will our lives be able to bear fruit that lasts forever. What an amazing truth to be reminded of. It is not about what we can do, but what GOD will do IN and THROUGH us as we decide to let our branch be connected to HIM who is the source of all life.

In verse 11 Jesus speaks about joy. A joy that does not come from earthly and material things, even though this also can give us short lived joy and a sense of happiness. This is a joy that is complete and comes from God, and can only be received from Him. Jesus felt complete joy even though he knew what was ahead of him; pain, suffering and death on the cross.  Filled with joy, given from God, he was willing to be the tool that made it possible for us to be in relationship with God.

I want to encourage you today. Do you feel tired, frustrated or maybe feel like you lost this God-given joy? This joy that will empower and equip you to face the different circumstances in your life with strength that can only be from God?
Take a few minutes and express your heart and your thoughts to God. He wants to meet with you. Tap into the one who is the true vine, and gives you everything you need.

Because of his grace, we don’t need to strive, but we can rest and be found in Him.

Have a blessed day!
