Todays vers: Mark 8:27-9:13

Set your mind on the things of God

There are several great and challenging things for us to learn from todays scripture.I encourage you to take time to write down the things you feel God is speaking to you about, and think about it throughout the day.

Our focus today is Mark 8:33.

But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”

“You are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man”.

This sentence is really challenging. Are my thoughts aligned with Gods thoughts? Is the way I think aligned with what the word of God teaches us?

The only way to change our thinking to be like Gods, is reading the word of God. It is full of wisdom, encouragement and guidance that will transform our lives. The bible is what some people call the “Users manual for life”. It  is not just to increase your knowledge, but a tool in your everyday life.

Romans 12:2 says: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Our mind is renewed to be like Christs mind, though reading the Bible. When we let the word of God be the foundation we build our thoughts on, our mind is renewed.

That is one of the reasons this devotional through the message of Easter is important for your personal walk with God. I believe it will renew your mind and create a new passion for the greatest celebration of the year, Easter.

Much love
